From the author:
Children – God’s Special Interest
In the African slums my heart was broken. There I saw children destroyed by life’s unfairness, adult abuse, Government neglect and perverts’ exploitation.
Knowing the Lord God’s love for Children, and His wrath against all who crush their spirits and faith, I wanted to write about what God’s Word records on this matter.
I’m not a novelist, so I couldn’t create a story.
I’m not a psychologist, so I couldn’t write a thesis.
I’m a devotional writer on Biblical subjects, so I put my heart on paper through my fingers to let God’s word have it’s say.

From Eden with Love
Being happily married and a minister of the Gospel, I’ve cried inwardly many times over those whose marriages have failed.
Sadness would fill my heart when a young couple wanted to be married yet had no idea of its meaning and majesty.
Angers stirs in me when I see society demeaning that which God instituted as the pinnacle of a man and woman’s relationship. Apart from God’s Word there is no meaning to or foundation for marriage.
So I’ve endeavoured to convey what the Bible says and its promises about the meaning, majesty and mystery of Marriage

Even Before Publishing
At the present time we live in a world where God’s meaning for marriage has largely been lost by the ease of living together without commitment and the ability to leave one’s partner without regret.
Unless a couple are willing to exercise discipline and seek God’s view of marriage from Scripture they are settling for less than best. From Eden with Love is a collection of thirty one Biblical teachings designed for couple or small group study on the Lord’s view of marriage. Each teaching concludes with a prayer and short reflection.
In this little book, Ray Hawkins has again gone to the heart of matter and leads his readers to discover Godly principles that underpin the success of Christian marriage. This is so necessary for a successful relationship. DS
CHILDREN: GOD’S SPECIAL INTEREST

Even Before Publishing
Even a new Christian reading Scripture for the first time can discern that children have a special place in God’s heart and on reading a new devotional Children: God’s Special Interest it is obvious that they have a special place in author Ray Hawkins’ heart also.
Each of the 31 Biblical studies begins with a Scripture reading that is followed by a key verse. The reading and the verse are then fleshed out with interesting teaching and extra information.
Each study concludes with an appropriate prayer and reflection/action. The action is a challenge to do something about the injustice metered out to children or for the reader to be willing to be transformed and changed by the renewing the mind.
Children: God’s Special Interest should appeal to all who work with children in a Christian setting. It should appeal to parents are willing to make a decision to study the easily read book for just a month. It might just be the best book they will ever read and their children will benefit just as much. DS
