New Covenant, New Glory, by Ken Legg

New Covenant, New Glory

From the author:

My Faith-Inspired Story For Writing New Covenant, New Glory
By Ken Legg

I am passionate about the grace of God! Grace is what makes Christianity unique. Religion is all about what we try to do for God; it’s our attempts at getting into His good books and staying there. But grace is all about what He has done for us freely through His Son Jesus Christ. Tragically, a large part of the Church has turned the Christian faith into just another religion. Throughout my years as a pastor I have discovered that one of the greatest keys in helping people to grasp the concept of grace is by understanding what the Bible teaches about the new covenant.  A covenant is an arrangement placed between two parties for the purpose of establishing a relationship between them. Christ is the Mediator of the new covenant and the sole basis upon which we are accepted and blessed by God. My great desire to teach this truth is what inspired me to write New Covenant, New Glory. I believe in the power of the written word, and am confident that the message that burns in my heart will now reach thousands of people.

NEW COVENANT, NEW GLORY
Ken Legg
Even Before Publishing

In his excellent book New Covenant, New Glory, Ken Legg shows through teaching and example how hard it is for Christians to understand who Jesus is and the Christian Scriptures (New Testament) without first having a good understanding of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament).

He does this in ways that strengthen, deepen and enrich the faith and understanding of both new Christians and as well as those who are more seasoned and mature in faith.

His interesting insights and teaching on the controversial subject of tithing are well backed up with Scriptural references. He understands the Law but we bask in our inheritance of God’s gift of grace and the glory of the New Covenant.

This book would make an appropriate Baptismal gift to a new believer.  DS

NEW COVENANT, NEW GLORY
Ken Legg
Even Before Publishing

In the Old Testament we read about God's covenant with the people of Israel, and in the New Testament Jesus instructs his followers about the new covenant he has forged by his death and resurrection. The author delves into the details of these two covenants urging readers to set aside Old Testament law-oriented behaviour and to build relationships on a New Testament gospel-centered ethos. He adds a lot of detail about the about the elements of a strong relationship with God. He tackles issues like Christian giving and tithing, finance and prosperity, observance of the Sabbath, and God's punishment. He maintains that it is possible to deal with unresolved guilt and develop an intimate relationship with God.
The book has catchy sectional headings but the tightly-packed, spikey text doesn't engender natural curiosity in the content. The author fittingly completes the book with discussion of the images of the dove and the rainbow, assuring Christ's followers that they can ‘rest fully in the sufficiency of His merits for the entire work of salvation.’ NS
