Over ten years ago, God gave me a vision of publishing a book with my poetry.  I was excited when Rochelle asked me to be involved with this book as it incorporates the diverse gifts of a number of people.   I can see this book being used as an aid in corporate or personal worship.  All Creation Sings not only fulfills the vision God gave me but is more than I imagined.  It reminds me of the promise in Ephesians 3:20: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”. ALL CREATION SINGS Volume 1: Psalms of Everyday Christians
Even Before Publishing
This little book starts with a few verses from Psalm 66 before leading in to a collection of 37 psalms written by a number of Australian and New Zealand writers.  I liked the way in A Sunny Saturday Katrina Roe celebrated the everyday happenings so many of us see around us or are involved in on weekends. Another which particularly appealed to me was a Collage of Grace by Janette Fernando. How could anyone resist a psalm that starts off:
Thank you God for
the colour turquoise.
I certainly couldn't. She goes on to list a number of other thing to be thankful for and I loved the
lacery of ferns
I also liked Your Faithfulness by Shirley Tulloch and God’s Love by Annette Paskins and So Shall I Sing by Jean Sietzema-Dickson. These to me captured the essence of the psalm genre. There are other little gems here too, some of them short like White Trumpets by Julie Thorndyke.   Others see things from a different perspective like The Possum’s Psalm by Marianne Musgrove.
Given the number if different writers included, this is an eclectic collection. As happens in any collection there is a wide variety of style, approach and subject matter.  Some are in free verse, others in rhyme. Some to my mind work better than others, but I’m sure everyone will find at least several, if not more, psalms that touch a chord with them in this collection.
Given its size this is a perfect book to include with a gift or as a special little thank you. It is one that will bring blessing to the receiver of it.  The green and back hard cover makes this a beautiful gift book. DH
