Enjoying the journey

FROM THE AUTHOR:

Anusha atukorala

My faith has inspired or informed my entry in the following way:  I have had the tremendous joy and privilege of knowing and following Jesus as my Saviour and Lord and Best Friend for the past 37 years. So of course, all of my writing over the years has been greatly influenced by my faith. I would say that my faith in Jesus is the most important part of my life, and underpins all of what I do; be it writing books, scrubbing floors, interacting with family and friends, studying, worshipping God or whatever else I engage in during a typical day.

My book ‘Enjoying the Journey’ is a collection of little stories from every day life. These stories tell of lessons learned  and truths gleaned from mundane events, like a cut finger, a walk to the village, a visit from a friend, my housecleaning chores and  such occurrences which are common to everyone. The book comprises a Prologue and n Epilogue, 75 stories,  75 little sketches and also 16 colour pictures that depict the wonder of God’s amazing creation.

My desire is that the readers of my book will be able to glimpse something of the beauty of life lived with Jesus. I would like them to experience as I have done, that no matter what life brings our way, be it good or bad, triumphs or tears, success or heartache, that when we walk close to Jesus, all of life is filled with meaning. Beauty, truth, love and goodness shines at us through even the darkest night. I would like my readers to know and experience the amazing joy that I have encountered through my day to day walk with the living Christ.

So yes, my faith has been at the core of my writing. I desire that the readers of ‘Enjoying the Journey’ would enjoy their journey with Jesus. I pray that they may be challenged and drawn to a closer walk with the Lord after reading this book.
