CALEB Unpublished Fiction Manuscript 2012

 

Prizes:

  1. (1) publication by our ministry partner, Even Before Publishing +
  2. (2) editing by Omega Writers Inc

Entries will be separate for children’s, young adult and adult in 2012. There may be winners awarded in all or some categories.

ALL ENTRIES CAN BE SUBMITTED EITHER BY PHYSICAL SUBMISSION
OR E-MAILED.

 

Cheques or money orders are to be made out to Omega Writers Inc or alternatively the entry fee can be paid online via Paypal.

 

POSTED SUBMISSIONS:

Please DO NOT self-address it as we will keep envelopes aside while we send manuscripts to the judges. Use posting details below.

ANY EMAILED SUBMISSIONS MUST COME TO: info@evenbeforepublishing.com

No return envelope needed. Any images MUST be posted. All files must be under 1MB. Word files required. (Readers will be reviewing on an ebook facility so files will be converted.) Manuscripts will be deleted after review by all parties and reports will be emailed to entrants at the same time as postal submissions are posted back.

Entry fees

Children’s (picture, max 1500 words, and short chapter books, max 10000 words): $55 non-members, $45 members

Please include a “prepaid envelope C4 size” for the return of your manuscript and report. Emailed submissions also allowed and preferred.

Young adult (up to 70000 words only): $65 non-members, $55 members*

Emailed submissions (under 1MB allowed) Alternatively posted submissions must include a “prepaid 3kg satchel” for return of the manuscript and report.

Adult (up to 100000 words only): $70 non-members, $60 members*

Emailed submissions (under 1MB allowed) Alternatively posted submissions must include a “prepaid 3kg satchel” for return of the manuscript and report.

Each entry requires a separate fee (and separate application details on the cover sheet) to cover costs of the reading report.

The Procedure:

Judges from Omega Writers Inc will choose the manuscripts for the commended and finalist lists. Prize winner and possible additional publication offers will be chosen by Rochelle Manners of EBP.

Entries will be accepted from 1 February 2012 - 18 May 2012. Early entries are preferred.

Commended authors will be announced in September 2012. The winner will be announced at the CALEB Prize awards dinner. If no entry is deemed worthy of publication, there is the provision for no award to be offered.

Each entry will receive a reader’s report on the manuscript. You may enter manuscripts that are currently being considered by a publishing house but, should you be offered a contract, please immediately withdraw your entry to this section of the CALEB Prize. If your manuscript has already been processed by the reader judges, you will not be entitled to a refund.
